With the eighth pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Minnesota Lynx selected University of Utah star Alissa Pili.
Pili, a 6-foot-2 big who 21.4 points and 6.4 reboudns per game for the Utah Utes as a senior this season, comes to the WNBA with an impressive college resume that includes two selections to the Associated Press All-American team. She’s also a three-time All-Pac-12 selection.
Pili said on ESPN that she believes she’ll immediately impact the league with her “versatility” and “physicality.”
Angel Reese, the All-American forward from LSU who was the SEC Player of the Year after leading the Tigers to the Final Four, was selected seventh overall by the Chicago Sky with the pick that Minnesota traded one day before the draft.
