The Vikings have reportedly agreed to a deal with former Dolphins linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Van Ginkel is the second pass rusher the Vikings have reportedly come to terms with Monday, having previously reportedly agreed to terms with former Texans edge rusher Jonathan Greenard.
Schefter reports the deal is a two-year, $20 million deal for Van Ginkel. The 28-year-old registered six sacks in 2023, bringing his career total to 17 sacks in five years. But he also registered the fifth-best pass rush grade among edge rushers in the NFL in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus.
Andrew Van Ginkel is signing with the Vikings.
Van Ginkel set career highs in pressures (55) and pressure rate (17.7%) in 2023, including a 19.1% pressure rate from Weeks 13-18, 4th-highest among edge defenders over that span (min. 100 pass rushes).#Skol pic.twitter.com/lqO0fNGJ6n

Van Ginkel previously played for Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores when Flores was the head coach in Miami. He was a fifth-round pick by the Dolphins in 2019 after accumulating 12 sacks in two seasons at the University Wisconsin.
