The Anaheim Ducks held off the Minnesota Wild 2-1 Friday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
The intensity could be felt from the get-go, as it took just seconds for the gloves to drop between Clayton Stoner and Chris Stewart.
The game was scoreless until late in the first when Francois Beauchemin put the Ducks on the scoreboard with his ninth goal of the season.
Jakob Silfverberg had a goal and an assist to lead the Ducks to the victory. Ryan Kesler also had a pair of helpers in the contest.
Minnesota answered back on a goal from Zach Parise, early in the second period to even the score at one.

Thomas Vanek and Mikko Koivu assisted.
But it didn’t remain that way for long. Just over two minutes later, Silfverberg beat Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk to put Anaheim back on top 2-1.
Ducks goaltender Josh Gibson turned the Wild away repeatedly all night. He stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced.
The Wild travel to St. Louis on Saturday to face the Blues.
