The Minnesota Timberwolves were no match for even a depleted San Antonio Spurs squad Tuesday night. The Wolves were blasted by the Spurs 116-91 at Target Center.
1. Aldridge takes over
With San Antonio missing some of their big pieces, LaMarcus Aldridge took the game over. The Spurs forward led the way with 29 points on 11-of-13 shooting.
He added seven boards and four assists, including this impressive dunk by over Wolves rookie Karl-Anthony Towns.

2. ‘Old man’ returns
Former Wolves point guard Andre Miller was back at Target Center, playing for the Spurs Tuesday. Miller started and finished the night with 13 points.
He added five assists, a steal and two rebounds.
The Wolves bought out Miller’s contract last month allowing the 39-year-old veteran to sign with a contender. He chose San Antonio.
3. Running away with it
The Wolves battled for most of the first half, and at one point had tied the game at 47, but it didn’t take the Spurs long to run away with it in the third quarter.

There weren’t a lot of bright spots for Minnesota in the second half. Andrew Wiggins led the Wolves with 23, while Towns added 19.
