The American League topped the National League, 3-0 in the MLB All-Star Game Tuesday night at Citi Field in New York.
Joe Mauer went 1-2 at the plate as the starting catcher for the AL. He batted eighth in the lineup.
In his first at-bat Mauer swung at the first pitch and lined out to left field. He hit a soft ground ball to left for a single in his second at-bat against Cliff Lee of the Phillies.
Here he is after the game. Click the photo to hear what he had to say.

Twins closer Glen Perkins did not play, but here’s how the eight former Twins did.
- Michael Cuddyer: 0-1, walk
- Carlos Gomez: 0-1
- J.J. Hardy: 0-2, RBI
- Torii Hunter: 0-1, grounded into double play
- David Ortiz: 0-2
- Grant Balfour: 1 inning, walk, strikeout
- Joe Nathan: 1 inning, one hit, strikeout, save
- Jesse Crain: Did not play
At one point during the sixth inning, Balfour was pitching, Mauer was catching and Cuddyer was at the plate. It was an all-Minnesota moment.
How about that! Balfour pitching to Mauer with Cuddyer at bat. Mauer a Twin with 2 former Twins

Mauer catching (ex-Twin) Balfour and first guy to plate (ex-Twin) Cuddyer. As Mauer said yesterday, "bittersweet" to see so many ex-Twins.

A scary moment for Yankees fans in the first inning as Mets pitcher Matt Harvey drilled Robinson Cano in the right knee with a hard fastball. Cano eventually limped off the field and didn’t return. He said he’s fine and he’ll be ready to play when the Yankees get back to work on Friday.
Aaron Gleeman put together a list of the worst Twins All-Stars of all-time. Sorry Ron Coomer and Ken Landreaux …
