It’s supposed to be a depressing season for the Chicago White Sox, and that was exactly the tone A.J. Pierzynski spoke with in a rah-rah video for their Home Opener on Thursday.

It’s pretty clear that the Sox pulled Pierzynski aside out of nowhere to have him read a script, but man, this is just brutal.
It’s especially tough to watch for Twins fans who remember Pierzynski for his fiery style of play, especially the moment he yelled “boo yah!” when crossing home plate after hitting a clutch home run against the Oakland Athletics in the 2002 playoffs.
Pierzynski played the first six seasons of his 19-year MLB career with the Twins (1998-03) but later spent eight years with the White Sox from 2005-12.
