Former Vikings quarterback Tavaris Jackson was arrested last week on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jackson was eventually charged and now faces prison time if convicted.
During the altercation, Jackson reportedly threatened to shoot his wife, who responded: his wife, “You better be accurate because you ain’t accurate on the field.”
Fair point: Jackson has a career completion percentage of just 59 percent.
Instead of hiring an attorney, Jackson says he doesn’t have any money and he needs a public defender, according to TMZ Sports.
Jackson told the Judge he has no income, savings, bank accounts or stocks. The judge denied Jackson’s request for a free public defender and ordered him to stay away from alcohol and bars.
Jackson has made $12.1 million in his 10 seasons in the NFL, according to Spotrac.
