The Minneapolis Regional of the NCAA softball tournament will resume Monday after play was suspended and postponed because of rain on Monday.
The Gophers are one win away from advancing to the Super Regional after winning both of its games Friday and Saturday to advance to the regional championship game. Here’s how the action will unfold Monday.
- 10 a.m. – Georgia vs. Drake
- 12 p.m. – Gophers vs. winner of Georgia/Drake
Georgia was leading Drake 4-2 in the fifth inning when the game was suspended on Sunday, so they’ll pick up where they left off.
If Minnesota wins the noon game they’re into the Super Regional. If the Gophers lose, they’ll have a rematch 30 minutes later in a decisive final game, with the winner advancing and the loser’s season ending.
The game Gophers opening game Monday will be televised on ESPNU.
If Minnesota reaches the Super Regional, they will again serve as host as the No. 7 overall seed against No. 10 LSU, which advanced out of the Baton Rouge Regional. The Super Regional is a best-of-three series, with the winner advancing to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
