Andrew Wiggins is apparently growing frustrated with fans booing him.
Wiggins was booed loudly during Minnesota’s 123-120 overtime loss to the lowly Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, and he deserves a large bit of the blame for his inability to connect on free throws when it mattered most.
“That’s fans for you. We’ve got some s—-y fans and we’ve got some good fans. That’s just how it works,” said Wiggins, according to Jon Krawczynski.
Leading 116-115 with 2:58 left in overtime, Wiggins made a free throw to put the Wolves up by two. He missed his second attempt.
Trae Young then hit a 3-pointer to give the Hawks a 118-117 lead. Wiggins was fouled again and went to the line with a chance to tie the game and take the lead with 49.3 seconds to go.
He missed the first. Timeout Wolves. Back to the line. Doink, another miss.
Fast forward. The Wolves are down 121-119 and Wiggins is fouled with 4.5 seconds to go.
Wiggins MAKES the first to cut the deficit to one, but again clanks the second off the rim and that’s all she wrote.
When it was all said and done, Wiggins missed three free throws that would’ve tied the game in overtime and was 5-of-12 from the charity stripe for the game. Not exactly the kind of clutch performance for a guy with a $148 million contract.
Not only that, but Wiggins barely made it onto the floor for the start of the game because he forgot to put his jersey on. No joke.

Overall, the game was a complete disaster. Minnesota was dominated early and trailed by as many as 22 points in the first half before rallying back to lead by nine midway through the fourth quarter, only to blow the lead and lose at home to what was a nine-win team.
