After rushing for 72 yards in about two and half games last season, Adrian Peterson was voted into NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2017.
A fan going by the moniker “skolvikes4life” on Instagram reacted: “I don’t think AD should be on this. Not cause he left Minnesota, but he didn’t even barely play last year.”
Peterson answered back: “That should tell you a lot.”

The post still only has two comments. One from the real life Adrian Peterson and another from a follower who thought Peterson’s response was hilarious.
The top 100 are voted on by NFL players, who clearly aren’t ready to write off Peterson after his injury-plagued 2016 season. His peers voted him No. 5 on the list last year after he came back from a 2014 suspension with nearly 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2015.
“If Adrian Peterson’s lukewarm-at-best free agent market wasn’t an indicator of how quickly he’s fallen in the eyes of others, his 93-place free-fall certainly affirms it. The veteran running back, who was ranked fifth in 2016 sees the effects of an early season injury coupled with a miserable offensive line, all but removing him from the consciousness of his colleagues. You can’t make the club in the tub.”
Peterson will get a chance to show the Vikings how much he has left in the tank when his new team, the Saints, play in Minnesota Week 1 on Monday Night Football.
Note: Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen was voted No. 92 in the top 100.
