Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson seems to be healing quickly from groin surgery he underwent last week.
“I’m feeling good. I had surgery Thursday on my groin. I’m getting around pretty good now. It’s a 4- to 6-week recovery time and things are moving along well,” Peterson said during an interview on ESPN’s “Mike & Mike” morning show.
The groin injury, along with a sprained foot kept Peterson out of the final two games of the 2013 season. He still found a way to finish fifth in in the NFL rushing yards (1,266) and fourth in rushing touchdowns (10), according to Vikings.com.
Peterson saying he’s well on his way to recovering from his latest surgery comes as no surprise. He tore his ACL in December of 2011 and against all odds, found himself rushing for two touchdowns in the 2012 season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Peterson’s 2012 campaign will go down as one of the greatest individual seasons of all-time. He rushed for 2,096 yards while leading the Vikings to an unexpected trip to the playoffs.
Peterson also joined KFAN radio on Friday. He provided his thoughts on new Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, trade speculation surrounding his name, and the NFL Draft. He speculated that Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel probably wouldn’t be around for the Vikings to use the No. 8 overall pick on him.
