The number 23 will be on Adrian Peterson’s jersey when he’s the starting running back for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“I have so much left,” Peterson said Wednesday, a day after being traded from New Orleans to Arizona. “I look to play at least four or five more years, god willing. I have a lot left in the tank. Stay tuned. You guys will be able to see that firsthand.”

Peterson playing four or five more years sounds wildly optimistic considering he was barely on the field for four or five plays a game with the Saints.
Why did he play so little in New Orleans? Because it was a “little crowded” in their backfield, according to Saints coach Sean Payton, via the Times Picayune.
From a fantasy football perspective, Peterson won’t be in the game on third downs this week, per head coach Bruce Arians. But he will be the starting back for a team that ranks dead last in the NFL in rushing.
