Adrian Peterson is about the only thing working with any level of consistency for the Washington Redskins’ offense, and his status for Thursday night’s game against the Vikings is in question.
Peterson, 34, will return to Minneapolis as an opponent for the second time after spending a decade with the Vikings from 2007 to 2016. But there’s a chance he’s in street clothes because of an ankle injury suffered in Sunday’s 9-0 loss to the 49ers.
According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Peterson underwent an MRI on Monday. The results showed a Grade 1 high ankle sprain and a Grade 2 low ankle sprain, with Peterson telling Anderson “I’m good.”

Had the Redskins practiced Monday, Peterson would’ve been listed as “DNP” for did not practice, according to the team’s injury report.
The Washington Post reports that Peterson fumbled on the play he was hurt, attributing losing the ball to the pain he felt rather than it being stripped away in muddy, wet conditions.
