Adrian Peterson’s future could be in Oakland, but perhaps only if Marshawn Lynch doesn’t un-retire.
According to Pro Football Talk, there’s a “very good chance” Marshawn Lynch ends his one year retirement – and the Raiders want him after losing Latavius Murray to the Vikings in free agency. More from Pro Football Talk.
“If Lynch returns, the Seahawks will have to decide whether to keep him, to cut him, or to trade him. He’d instantly account for $9 million on the Seattle books, and he’d remain there until they cut him or trade him.”
ESPN reports that Peterson likes Oakland’s potential and “remains a possibility” for the Raiders.
While signing Peterson is a simple deal, barring him demanding way too much money, acquiring Lynch is more complicated. Lynch has two years left on his contract with the Seahawks, so the Raiders could only get Lynch through a trade or hope the Seahawks release him, ESPN says.
Cordarrelle Patterson, who signed with Oakland last week, is encouraging Peterson to join him in Oakland.

After signing Murray, the Vikings announced Thursday that Peterson’s career in Minnesota is over.
“I’ve talked to Adrian,” Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said. “We had a great conversation earlier today, and I know with us signing Murray that Adrian will move on elsewhere.”
