Wild fans will be able to buy beer from a vending machine at the Xcel Energy Center starting Thursday.
The Xcel’s new Budweiser Smart Vending Machine is the first in any entertainment venue in the world, according to a news release from the team.
The vending machine will dispense 25-ounce cans of Budweiser – it’ll cost $13 for the can, which is the largest beer sold at the Xcel, Ryan Stanzel, the Wild’s corporate communications manager, told BringMeTheNews via email Wednesday.
This is similar to the self-serve beer machines that debuted at Target Field this summer, although those beers come on tap. And just like at Twins games, there will be someone checking patrons’ IDs before they make a purchase at Xcel.
The beer vending machine will be on the main concourse near section 113.
The Wild host the Chicago Blackhawks that night. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
