Minnesota United FC was scheduled to face FC Dallas Sunday in Texas, but the game has been postponed due to a coronavirus situation involving Minnesota.
The game was postponed after two members of the United tested positive for COVID-19. Both people who tested positive are players, though their identities have not been released.
“Since the first positive COVID-19 test result, all Minnesota United players and staff have been tested three additional times. Two players were confirmed positive cases, however all testing results from the other players and staff have returned negative,” the United announced.
In addition to Sunday’s game being postponed, the team has suspended all training. All players and staff have gone into quarantine and additional testing and contact tracing will take place.
Minnesota is 6-5-5 this season. Their 23 points places them fourth in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference. As of now, the United’s Wednesday night game at Chicago is still on, but the situation will need to be monitored.
