With Mike Zimmer officially in as Minnesota Vikings head coach, he has moved quickly on assembling a staff of coordinators and assistants.
Over the weekend, Zimmer added former San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner as the offensive coordinator of the club, and former Miami Dolphins linebackers coach George Edwards as the defensive coordinator of the Purple.
Additionally, it looks as if Zimmer’s son, Adam, will be joining his father in Minnesota.
Adam is currently the assistant defensive backs coach for the Bengals, and has been an NFL coach for eight seasons. His role with the Vikings is yet to be determined.
As for the rest of Zimmer’s staff, much is still up in the air, but we do know one man will not be on it.
Former Vikings player and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey chose an assistant coach job with the Tennessee Titans this weekend rather than coming to Minnesota after talking to both teams.
Mularkey will reportedly serve as the quarterbacks or tight ends coach for new Tennessee head coach Ken Whisenhunt after taking a year off from football.
