Nike paid the NBA a billion dollars to take over uniforms beginning with the 2017-18 season. With Adidas out, the new-look Nike jerseys will bring a different flavor to the league.
Nobody knows exactly what the change will mean for the Timberwolves, but Wolves Vice President of Fan Experience Jeff Munneke told 1500 ESPN’s Raised by Wolves podcast that the jerseys will be different.
“I’ve seen the shade of color,” Munneke said. “I’ve seen one swath of paint, so I have an idea of the color perhaps, but that’s all I’ve seen. It’s just a darker shade of blue.”
Munneke added that the shade of blue he saw was “pretty close” to the color of the blue at the practice facilities inside Mayo Clinic Square.
Really, there’s not a whole lot here. But it does make it less likely that the Wolves will switch back to the lighter shade of blue the original uniforms had.
