The Target Center has been awfully quiet, some might say empty, in the eight years since Kevin Garnett was traded to the Boston Celtics.
But when “Da’ Kid” was traded back to Minnesota on Thursday, ticket sales for the Wolves went absolutely berserk.
According to WCCO, ticket sales at Ticket King in Minneapolis went up 794 percent from Wednesday to Thursday.
Ticket King President Michael Nowakowski wasn’t aware of the trade until sales started going through the roof.
“All of the sudden our website was going crazy with Timberwolves sales. And I thought, ‘Wow, am I missing something?’ Well, sure enough I was,” he said.

Garnett won’t play Friday when the Wolves host the Phoenix Suns, or Wednesday when they play on the road against Kevin McHale’s Houston Rockets; his first game will be next Wednesday at Target Center against the Washington Wizards.
Tickets to that game have gone up in price by 835 percent, according to Next Impulse Sports.
The reason for the spike is that tickets for Friday’s Wolves-Suns game can be purchased for as low as $2.99 on StubHub. The cheapest ticket to the Wizards game are $24.99.
Perhaps NBA.com’s Steve Aschburner put it best when he wrote that Garnett’s return to Minnesota is was a “signature of loyalty.” The fans, clearly, have remained loyal to KG, too.
