The Minnesota Timberwolves (24-44) haven’t won two straight road games since March of 2012.
That streak could end tonight with a win at Detroit (24-47), who, like the Wolves are among the have-nots in the NBA.
Minnesota clobbered Phoenix last Friday night, 117-86, in Arizona, but followed up that effort at home Sunday against Chicago with a loss to the Bulls.
The Chicago loss meant that Minnesota still hasn’t won two straight games — home or away — since mid-December.
After tonight, the Wolves face a quartet of tough teams at home: the L.A. Lakers (Wednesday), Oklahoma City (Friday), Memphis (Saturday) and Boston (Monday). All are playoff contenders, with a combined record of 171-110.
So, a win tonight against Detroit?
It can’t hurt.
