Don’t expect Wolves head coach Rick Adelman coaching the team anyting “in the near term.” That was the word from president of basketball operations David Kahn on Friday.
Kahn says Adelman, who has missed six games to be with his ailing wife, doesn’t want to return to the team until he feels like it will be permanent rather than in and out.
Kahn also discussed the possiblity of making a trade to help bolster their injury-plagued lineup. But he doesn’t expect to make a “significant” move.
In the meantime the NBA has granted the Wolves a hardship exemption, which is given to teams dealing with an abnormal amount of injuries.
Since they won’t be re-signing Lazar Hayward, whose 10-day contract has expired, they can bring in another player.
