Even with an 0-1-2 start, the Minnesota Wild are not in panic mode. Yet.
“But there’s also been some positives,” coach Mike Yeo tells Fox Sports North. “So as far as the past three games, let’s learn from the things that haven’t been good enough.”
And NBC Sports picks this up from the Wild’s Zach Parise: “I think we’re still playing good hockey,” Parise said to the Star Tribune. “It would be one thing if we came to the rink and had no chance to win any of those games. But that’s not the case. We just need to be a little sharper in different areas. We’re still in a good mood; everyone is still in good spirits. We’re just frustrated that we haven’t won.”
In advance of Thursday’s home game against Winnipeg, Minnesota shook up its lines at Wednesday’s practice. Yeo moved Jason Pominville from the first line to second line and bumped Nino Niederreiter form the second line to the first line to play alongside Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu.
“We’re 0-1-2. We wanted to be 3-0, of course,” goalie Josh Harding, who will start Thursday in place of the injured Niklas Backstrom, tells FSN North. “We’re going to take the positives, keep working every day and we’ve got to find a way to win here. That’s the most important thing.”
