Wisconsin pulled away down the stretch as the Badgers beat the Gophers 62-49 at Williams Arena Wednesday night in Minnesota’s final home game of the season.
1. A lack of firepower
Minnesota battled most of the way through, but for much of the night the Gophers just didn’t have the firepower to hang with the Badgers.
With Nate Mason, Dupree McBrayer and Kevin Dorsey all suspended until the end of the season, the Gophers have just six scholarship players on the roster.
At times it looked that way, as Minnesota played at a much more deliberate tempo to try to hang with the Badgers.
2. Koenig, Happ lead Badgers
Bronson Koenig had 14 points and Ethan Happ had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Badgers to the win.

Their efforts helped the Badgers grind out the victory in the physical game.
3. Freshman Sharp looks sharp in extended minutes
One of the players who has been forced to step up with the suspensions has been walk-on freshman Stephon Sharp. After scoring 19 in his first start against Illinois Sunday, Sharp put up 16 to lead the Gophers.
Sharp playing like he's trying to earn a scholarship. He's got 10 points in the first half. Lone bright spot for #Gophers down 17.

He had four rebounds and three assists without a turnover for Minnesota.
