The Wolves host the Clippers Tuesday night in what could be a make-or-break game for Minnesota.
“Home games, away games, games on the moon – it don’t matter,” said Karl-Anthony Towns after Minnesota lost to Houston on Sunday. “We gotta win all of them. We put ourselves in this position and this situation. I’m not complaining about the cards we’ve been dealt, but we’ve gotta make the most of them.”
Entering play Tuesday, the Wolves (40-31) are in eighth place in the Western Conference, but only two games ahead of the Clippers (37-32) and the Nuggets (38-33).
Lose this game and suddenly the Clippers are just one game behind Minnesota, while the Wolves would fall at least 1.5 games behind the sixth and seventh seeds, Utah and New Orleans.
And let’s be honest: Utah and New Orleans are probably both going to win Tuesday night.
Utah hosts the Hawks (20-50) and New Orleans is at home against Dallas (22-48), so a Minnesota loss would likely put them 2 games behind the sixth and seventh seeds with only 10 games to go.
