Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams will undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam today to have his injured knee tested.
Williams was hit by 49ers offensive lineman Joe Looney in the third quarter of last night’s preseason game in San Francisco.
While many thought it was a low blow, Looney wasn’t penalized.
After the game, Williams said he felt OK, but was irritated with how it went down.
I was just upset that I’m getting cut like that 11 years in from a guy I don’t even know who the guy is,” he told the Pioneer Press. “Between the pain and the fact that no one was looking it was terrible.”

According to NBCSports.com, if Williams is forced to miss any time, the Vikings would need first-rounderSharrif Floyd to play a larger role. He didn’t play against the 49ers after a minor procedure on his knee, but is expected to be fine for the opener.
