The Minnesota Wild dropped the front end of a back-to-back with the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night, falling to their West Division counterpart by a score of 2-1.
For the third straight game, the Wild got off to a slow start at home. As they skated through a scoreless first period, the Kings got on the board first in the second period on Kurtis MacDermid’s first goal of the season.
The goal was the only marker through the first two periods, sending the Wild into the third period down 1-0. That deficit didn’t last long as Joel Eriksson Ek put Minnesota on the board with his fourth goal of the season.

The Kings had a quick answer to Eriksson Ek’s equalizer as Carl Grundstom flipped the puck over Kappo Kahkonen’s glove for his second goal of the year to give the Kings a 2-1 lead.
Unlike the previous two meetings with the Kings, the Wild didn’t have a comeback up their sleeve and dropped consecutive games for the first time this season.
The Wild are now 4-3 on the season and will look to split the two-game series with the Kings on Thursday night.
