The Minnesota Wild beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center in a pre season game last night.
WCCO TV reports that Jason Pomniville’s shootout goal was the difference maker for the Wild.
The Jets rallied back from a 2-0 deficit after the first period to take a 3-2 lead following three second period goals. But Ryan Suter evened the score at three to force overtime.
Nicholas Backstrom stopped 28 shots for the Wild.
Minnesota and Winnipeg will be Central Division foes with the new alignment in the NHL.
