New York Islanders 4
Minnesota Wild 1
The Minnesota Wild continue to struggle at the Xcel Energy Center. They returned indoors Tuesday night with a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders.
1. Slow start dooms Minnesota
While the Wild got off to a slow start, the Islanders were rolling early as Matt Martin scored just 1:36 into the game, giving New York 1-0 lead.
Before the end of the first, that lead swelled to 2-0 when Frans Nielsen netted the first of his two goals on the night midway through the period.
2. A big night for Tavares, Nielsen
A couple of Islanders had big nights Tuesday. Nielsen had a pair of goals, while John Tavares added a goal and an assist.

3. Porter returns with a goal
Since taking over, interim coach John Torchetti has told Wild players they would have a clean slate with him. Well Chris Porter took advantage of his first opportunity with Jason Zucker out because of an injury.
Porter scored his fourth goal of the season in his first game back on the ice with the Wild.
