The Minnesota Wild might be playoff bound, but they sure don’t seem playoff ready.
The ugly truth is that the Wild is 1-6-1 this month against teams currently in the top eight of the Western Conference.
“We can’t afford to do play like that,” Charlie Coyle tells the Pioneer Press. “This is basically playoff hockey now and we can’t play like that. We’ve just got to get prepared for the next one.”
The next one is Sunday, when the Wild hosts Calgary at the Xcel Energy Center.
If Minnesota is going to make it to the playoffs, they better start playing better at home. The Wild is 0-3-1 at the X in April. The remaining schedule is as follows…
Calgary, Sunday – Xcel Energy Center
Los Angeles, Tuesday – Xcel Energy Center
Edmonton, Friday – Xcel Energy Center
Colorado, Saturday – Pepsi Center
