The Minnesota Wild have called up defenseman Jonas Brodin from the Houston Aeros, the club’s American Hockey League affilliate.
Talking with reporters today, Brodin said he’s “glad to be here” and “ready to go.”
(His comments can be heard on the Wild’s PONDcast podcast, right here.
Brodin, 19, was Minnesota’s first-round selection in the 2011 NHL entry draft (10th overall). Last year, he played in Sweden’s Elite League.
This year, he started with Houston — but underwent surgery in November to repair a broken collarbone.
Brodin is expected to make his NHL debut Friday when the Wild travel to Detroit to face the Red Wings.
