The Wild left goaltender Niklas Backstrom in Minnesota when they left for Dallas on Thursday.
Backstrom has started 12 consecutive games and head coach Mike Yeo doesn’t want to “wear him down.”
With only one goalie on the flight — rookie Darcy Kuemper — the Wild recalled Matt Hackett from the Houston Aeros. To make room on the roster the team assigned forward Jake Dowell to Houston.
Yeo would not say whether Hackett or Kuemper would start against the Stars Friday night.
