On Aug. 2, 1986, Fran Tarkenton was the first player who played the majority of his career with the Vikings to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He retired following the 1978 season with NFL career records for passing yards (47,003), completions (3,686) and touchdown passes (342). He led the Vikings to six NFC Central titles, four NFC Championship Games and three Super Bowls.

On Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, linebacker/defensive end Chris Doleman will be the latest Viking to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio.
The Vikings’ all-time sack leader was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February.
