Friday night’s contest against the Cleveland Guardians won’t be the last time the Minnesota Twins are exclusively televised on Apple TV+ this season. That’s good news if you enjoy a high-quality streaming service, but bad news if you’re not a subscriber.
Last season, Major League Baseball’s first season partnering for “Friday Night Baseball” on Apple TV+, fans could catch the games for free without being a subscriber. That’s no longer the case this season, so every game streamed on Apple TV+ will require a subscription.
For Minnesota baseball fans, it means a subscription is required for the two remaining Twins games scheduled to be streamed on Apple TV+. The next one is Friday, May 12 when the Twins host the Chicago Cubs at Target Field. The other is Friday, June 2 when the Twins host the Guardians.
A subscription costs $6.99 a month, or you can buy an annual plan starting at $69.
You can sign up for Apple’s seven-day free trial to catch the games and then cancel the subscription before your credit card is charged.
Unlike local broadcasts on Bally Sports North, the Apple experience features a three-person broadcast booth and drones that provide unique camera angles from around the ballpark. They also more advanced audio production with players mic’d up on the field to converse with the announcers during the game.
