We’re not sure yet exactly what the new Vikings stadium will look like.
But we do have some drawings of what it will not look like. MPR’s collection of renderings includes drawings from architectural firms that were rejected as well as the winner, HKS Sports and Entertainment.
HKS is holding public hearings around the state to gather input on what fans and neighbors would like to see in a new stadium. In advance of Monday’s opening hearing in Minneapolis, the chair of the Sports Facilities Authority told WCCO that, while the roof will be fixed, it’s possible the upper walls could retract to allow a panoramic view of downtown.
The stadium is scheduled for completion in 2016 at a cost of $975 million.
