That intense desire you feel burning in your soul right now – that deep-fried hunger for a tasty donut – is something that even the best athletes in the world experience. But what are you going to do about it?
The Minnesota Vikings created a Donut Club and they congregate at the team’s practice facility every Saturday to indulge in the taste of God’s gift to the human race.
“I’m now getting yelled at for talking about it,” Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway explained in an interview about the club with Monday Morning Quarterback. “It’s like Fight Club. You’re going to get me in trouble.”

Donut Club, which began in 2008 when former Vikings quarterback Gus Frerotte brought in a couple dozen donuts, doesn’t tolerate a come and go as you please mentality. It has rules and an acting leadership committee.
MMQB explains that Certified Athletic Trainer Eric Sugarman is the president while linebacker Chad Greenway, defensive end Everson Griffen and tight end Kyle Rudolph are board members. Jared Allen, now playing for the Carolina Panthers, was once the club’s alumni booster.
On May 28, Sugarman proved his dedication to donuts when he retweeted a story from Eater about the “seven American doughnuts that changed breakfast forever.”
Sugarman often will tweet a photo of the club’s members when they gather. The club, as evidenced by the photos dating back to the 2013 season, has grown in popularity.
