After that heartbreaker in Green Bay, the Minnesota Vikings’ playoff chances took a huge hit. The Purple are now in 10th place in the race for a post-season spot (including potential tie-breakers). Those are real numbers. Fake numbers? Power-rankings style?
For a glimpse, here’s how the various list-makers rank the Vikings heading into their Week 14 meeting with the Bears:
FoxSports has the Vikings at No. 19 this week, down three spots from Week 13. No talk of playoffs from author Brian Billick, who just focuses on Adrian Peterson’s quest for 2,000 yards.
CBS Sports has Minnesota at No. 19 as well, down two places from last week. The eye’s bottom line: “Is it time to make a change to Joe Webb?”
The Bleacher Reporthas Minnesota at No. 18 — down three spots from Week 13. Their take: “the Vikings have been a disappointment after their hot start.”
SB Nation has the Purple down one notch at No. 17, saying “the pitchforks are out in Minnesota after Ponder’s awful showing in Green Bay.”
