Kurtis Gabriel was bleeding out of his face Saturday night.
Unfortunately for the Wild’s 2013 draft pick, he took his enforcer role off the ice and into the tunnel where he confronted a member of the Chicago Wolves during an AHL game with the Iowa Wild.
Gabriel, who’s been in 37 fights during his minor league career, according to Michael Russo, went up to the Chicago player and then likely heard two sounds: the Chicago’s player’s fist hitting his face and his body hitting the ground. The action starts at the 4:10 mark of the video.
The fight was shown on the in-arena video board. When Gabriel hit the ground, the crowd erupted with joy.
Gabriel got up and had a nasty gash on the left side of his face.
Russo says Gabriel has been suspended indefinitely.
