It was just one of those days for the Twins as they were swept by the Detroit Tigers in a doubleheader at Target Field Thursday.
Detroit took the first game 9-2 and they won the nightcap 4-2.
The ninth inning of Game 1 featured one of the strangest plays of the season. Twins rookie reliever Pat Light was trying to intentionally walk a batter when his pitch sailed over catcher Juan Centeno’s head allowing Justin Upton to score from third.
Light had a terrible day. He got two outs but walked three and allowed three earned runs. He threw 20 pitches and only five were called for strikes.
“Oh look out, he uncorked it,” the Tigers television announcer says in the video. Check it out right here.
