The Twins bullpen was taxed on Sunday in the team’s 13-4 loss to the Detroit Tigers. So backup catcher Chris Gimenez stepped up to the mound and finished the inning on four pitches.

It wasn’t the first time Gimenez took the mound. Sunday was Gimenez’s fourth pitching appearance in his nine-year big league career.
After sending down starting pitcher Adalberto Mejia on Saturday, the Twins will most likely be rolling with four-man rotation for the next few weeks.
The team has two off-days lined up from now until May 6, so that’s why the team doesn’t necessarily need a fifth starter at the moment.
