Ryan Reaves had himself a first period Tuesday night, getting the crowd inside the Xcel Energy Center riled up when he flexed his bicep after landing multiple big punches in a fight and later scoring the tying goal late in the period against the New York Islanders.
First, the fight, which came against a towering foe in New York big man Ross Johnson. Reaves and Johnson dropped gloves and outside of a couple of soft knuckles from Johnson Reaves was unscathed, while Johnson was on the wrong end of multiple right hands from the Minnesota Wild enforcer.

Reaves capped his terrific period with a goal at the 18-minute mark, tying the score 1-1 with his first goal in a Wild sweater. It was a thing of hand-eye coordinator beauty as he backhanded a puck out of midair and into the back of the net.
