Phil Kessel, the former Gopher turned Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins, got his day with the Stanley Cup this week and he didn’t waste any time doing awesome things with it.
He brought the Cup to Toronto, where he played six seasons and never won a championship with the Maple Leafs. But Kessel wanted to share the cup with children at Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital, according to the Toronto Star.
And then Kessel switched gears and shared the Cup with his family. Specifically, he hoisted the Cup to let his grandmother chug (or sip) champagne from the most famous trophy in all of sports. The video is wonderful.
