Miguel Sano’s swing the last month and change has resembled the one that made him an All-Star in 2017, and in the fourth inning of Saturday’s game against Oakland at Target Field he destroyed a baseball into the third deck at Target Field.
As Fox Sports North play-by-play man Dick Bremer said, it was a “prodigious” shot.
The blast was measured an estimated 460 feet, making it the tied for the 12th longest homer in Target Field history a Twin.
Jim Thome, who was inducted into the pro baseball Hall of Fame earlier this month, owns the longest homer in Target Field history at 490 feet. Ironically, Thome was in the broadcast booth with Bremer when Sano hit the blast.
In honor of Jim Thome (and the long home run by Miguel Sano tonight)…

Thome threw out the first pitch before the game in honor of his Hall of Fame induction.
"I tell people to this day, [Minnesota] was one of my favorite places — not only to play, but to live."
