OK, it’s spoiler time.
Actually, it’s been spoiler time for a few months — but at 2-10 the Vikings are simply trying to bring meaning to the last month of the season. The obvious storyline is the effort to try to ruin the playoff chances of the Lions and Bears — both at 7-5 right now — and in the NFC Wild Card mix.
The storyline no one likes to think about is the real possibility that the Vikings could go 2-14 this year, which would be their worst ever record. Defensive end Jared Allen says he simply doesn’t want to go there.
As to what to watch for during the game, Christian Ponder won’t have Ndamukong Suh chasing him around. Suh has been suspended for being the biggest idiot in professional football after stomping on Green Bay Packer Evan Dietrich-Smith on Thanksgiving:

The view from Detroit? Uh, in a word…troubling. Detroit Free Press writer Drew Sharp says that when the Lions and Vikings traded places in the standings — Detroit good, Minnesota bad — it set up a new locker room dynamic. If the Lions lose Sunday, they may exclaim, “We just lost to those guys?” Hence, the 2-10 Vikings are “those guys.”
