Lestar Jean, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Tuesday.
Jean, 26, spent the first three seasons of his career with the Houston Texans, where he caught a total of 10 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown.
According to the Star Tribune, Jean will likely compete for a roster spot behind Greg Jennings, Cordarrelle Patterson, Jarius Wright and Jerome Simpson. Adam Thielen, Kamar Jordan and Rodney Smith are also competing for a job at the wide receiver position.
His lone touchdown came on a 54-yard catch in 2012 against the Tennessee Titans. It’s the only play of his short career that helps define his personal website, BigPlayJean.com.
Lestar “Big Play” Jean totaled four receptions for 35 yards in 11 games last season. However, he was very effective during his four-year career at Florida Atlantic. He caught 146 passes for nearly 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns in college.
On his website, which doesn’t look like it has been updated in three years, he says his favorite food is pizza and if he wasn’t named Lestar he would call himself Charles, because he’s “always felt like a Charles.”
