The Minnesota Vikings have brought back N’Keal Harry, signing him to the practice squad less than a week after releasing him ahead of their final cuts.
Harry signed with the Vikings as a free agent on Aug. 6 and caught two passes for 24 yards in Minnesota’s first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Harry was scheduled to play the following week against Tennessee but was held out after aggravating a soft tissue injury in warmups. The Vikings later released him with an injury designation on Aug. 24.
The 32nd overall pick in 2019 by the New England Patriots, Harry has caught 64 passes for 714 yards and five touchdowns in four NFL seasons including seven catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in seven games with the Chicago Bears last season.
Harry’s return gives the Vikings some extra depth at the receiver position after releasing Jalen Reagor last week. Minnesota currently has Justin Jefferson, K.J. Osborn, Jordan Addison, Brandon Powell and Jalen Nailor on the active 53-man roster.
To make room for Harry, the Vikings released guard Alan Ali, who made the practice squad out of training camp. Trishton Jackson and Lucky Jackson are also receivers on the practice squad.
