Former head coach and current color analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Jon Gruden, is confident that the Vikings will win in Chicago.
But he’s not so sure about Sam Bradford’s chance at starting Monday night.
Bradford practiced for the first time in a couple weeks Thursday at Winter Park, with coach Mike Zimmer saying “If he’s ready, he’ll play.”
But Gruden isn’t so sure he’ll be ready in time.
“I’m preparing for [Case] Keenum and we’re hoping that Sam Bradford gets back on the field sooner rather than later. I tend to believe he’s probably a week away,” he told the Pioneer Press on Friday.
Gruden knows his stuff. He is the type that ingratiates himself in the game of football in absolutely every way you can think of.
Some close to him have described his football film library as being second only to NFL Films‘ and his football passion as “maniacal,” Bleacher Report said.
Jay Rothman, who produces Monday Night Football and Gruden’sQB Camp, told the publication that no analysts “come close to him in terms of preparation.”
The point is, when Jon Gruden gives his opinion on football, he knows what he’s talking about.
However, Vikings fans have a silver lining to Gruden’s belief Bradford will miss the game: He still believes the Vikings will win it.

Gruden will be in the booth ready to break down the Vikings at Bears on Monday Night Football. Kickoff from Soldier Field is at 7:30 p.m.
