The Minnesota Vikings get one defensive lineman back, but they will be without another one Sunday in Detroit.
The Vikings officially ruled Sharrif Floyd out for Sunday’s game against the Lions. Floyd hasn’t participated in practice all week, as he has been recovering from a knee and ankle injury.
According to the Pioneer Press, Floyd suffered the injury against Kansas City last Sunday.
Things had been looking up for the line since defensive end Everson Griffen returned to practice Thursday. He told reporters that the chance of him playing against the Lions was 100 percent.
With Floyd out of the mix, Tom Johnson is expected to start in his place.
The defensive line played a big part in Minnesota’s victory over the Lions earlier this season. The Vikings only sacked Lions quarterback Matt Stafford once, but were able to get hits on him several other times.
The only other player listed as out is reserve defensive lineman Justin Trattou.
