Arguably the best safety in the NFL, Harrison Smith of the Vikings checked in at No. 46 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2018.
Smith’s teammate in the secondary, Xavier Rhodes, called Smith the “heart and soul of this defense.”
“They call him ‘Hitman’ for a reason,” Rhodes said. “Gettin’ off blocks like he’s a D-lineman. Blitzin’ the gap, running through like he’s a linebacker.”
Smith is entering his seventh season with the Vikings. In 2017, the All-Pro safety racked up 93 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 5 interceptions, 1.5 sacks and 14 passes defensed, according to stats tracked by the Vikings.
Smith is the sixth Vikings player from last season to make the top 100.
- Linval Joseph, No. 83
- Stefon Diggs, No. 65
- Xavier Rhodes, No. 55
- Case Keenum, No. 51
- Harrison Smith, No. 46
Kirk Cousins was ranked 94th after his last season with Washington.
