The Minnesota Vikings are moving outside, but they open the 2014 regular season indoors – in St. Louis.
The Vikings just released their 2014 schedule and they play the St. Louis Rams, in Mike Zimmer’s first game as head coach, on Sept. 7 during kickoff weekend. It is the fifth time in the last six seasons the Vikings open their season on the road.
The home opener at TCF Bank Stadium is the following week when the Vikings welcome the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. Believe it or not, it won’t be the first meeting between the Vikings and Patriots at the University of Minnesota. They also played at Memorial Stadium during a pre-season game in 1971.
The Vikings will also see their share of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks. In addition to Brady, the Vikings will see Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers twice on Oct. 2 at Lambeau Field in their lone prime-time appearance of the year, and on Nov. 23, when the Packers make the return trip.
They will also Drew Brees as they travel to New Orleans for the first time since 2010, the following week.

Minnesota has their bye week on Week 10.
Old school Vikings fans will love how the season finishes up. Minnesota hosts the Chicago Bears outdoors during the regular-season finale, on Dec. 28.

That is not the only Vikings December home game. They also host the New York Jets on Dec. 7.
Minnesota also has home games against Atlanta on Sept. 28, Detroit Oct. 12, Washington Nov. 2 and Carolina on Nov. 30.
The remaining road games are in Buffalo on Oct. 19, Tampa Bay on Oct. 26, Chicago Nov. 16, Detroit Dec. 14 and in Miami on Dec. 21.
