The Purple, minority owner Mark Wilf specifically, pitched the NFL owners on Minnesota hosting the 2018 Super Bowl at their quarterly sales meeting today.
The Vikings are one of six locations being considered for the marquee NFL event five years from now, and finalists are expected to be announced in the next few days.
The NCAA Football National Championship Game is on the list of high interest events also on the docket for the land of 10,000 lakes, as Meet Minneapolis submitted a formal bid for the 2017 version of the biggest prize in amateur sports last month. They’re said to also be looking at putting in a bid for the Final Four sometime in Minneapolis, which would occur sometime in the next decade.
